During this time, one American stood out, AULCIE PERRY, who arrived in Israel and became a beloved national figure. Many saw him as the first widely recognized Black celebrity in the country, and the public embraced him. His romance with supermodel Tami Ben Ami captivated the nation, while Maccabi Tel Aviv became the team of the state. Perry converted to Judaism, becoming Elisha Ben Avraham, before his fall.
