The film is a personal retrospect of its director, whose father was a lifelong member of the central committee of the Israeli Communist party. More than any political party in Israel, the communists were a joint cadre of Jews and Arabs, united in their revolutionary, mostly Stalinist-Leninist brand of communism. In the film, some of the leading veterans of the movement reflect on their lives, the ideals for which they sacrificed so much, and which over the years crumbled before their eyes.
