Criminal Therapist, Dr. Dan Philipp has devoted his career to treating violent sex offenders. Despite excessive exposure to pure evil, his belief in ‘a basic sense of humanity’, including the most heinous offenders, has never been shaken. He claims, "it’s difficult for most to have any form of compassion for sex offenders, perhaps because we fear any similarity to them". At 87, Dan revisits his native city of Aachen. There in Germany, memories of a traumatic childhood evoke repressed emotional ties, challenging his compulsion to heal the most repugnant criminals.
